I feel embarrassed when I remember how unprepared to pitch I used to walk into the room. Oh... my God! 🤦♂️ 🤦♂️ How I would like to pitching as a professional.
If you have to sell something as part of your job - a product, a service, an idea, and we all have to do it at some point - you know how the right pitch can move a project forward and the wrong pitch can simply kill it. I myself already had horrible experiences with badly made pitches.
But long time ago I discovered that, far from being a gift or talent, pitch someone is a science that can be learnt. It takes into account psychology, neuroscience, personality, environment, social behavior and a lot… a lot of practice.
In an optimum stage, your pitch should capture attention, create interest, build credibility, generate excitement, facilitate understanding, drive action, build relationship and differentiate yourself.
